Fundraising Prizes - Rules & Regulations Deadlines All online and offline pledges must be received by YWCA Toronto by Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 5:00 PM in order to count toward prizes and incentives. Online Fundraising and Offline Donations You must have a Running Room Online Fundraising page to qualify for prizes and incentives. You can collect offline donations (cash or cheques) through a pledge form that will be added to your online total. Click here for an offline pledge form to help you keep track of your offline donations. Donating to yourself Personal donations will count towards your total and earning prizes. However, please note that a tax receipt cannot be issued for the full amount of your donation if you claim a prize (free registration, or others). Your tax receipt will be calculated as per Canada Revenue Agency regulations. It will be the amount of your donation, less the value of the prize you claim. How do I race for free or qualify for fundraising prizes? 1. Register for the B & O Yorkville Run/Walk through the Running Room here. 2. Create Your Online Personal Fundraising Page during the Running Room registration process, or by clicking here. 3. Ask your friends, family, and colleagues to support you! 4. After September 15, tally up all your pledges to see what prizes you've qualified for. Send an email to cshortell@ywcatoronto.org with the subject line "Yorkville Run - Prize Claim", and identify which prize you would like to claim. A certificate to claim your prize will be mailed or emailed to you within two weeks. One prize per person Each fundraiser can claim ONE prize only. Prizes categories are exclusive and non-cumulative. E.g. If you raise $500, you can claim one prize from the $500 category. You would then not receive free race registration. Frequently Asked Questions If I raise over $200 and chose the "free regisration prize", how do I get a refund for my race registration fee? Send an email to cshortell@ywcatoronto.org with the subject line "Yorkville Run - Registration Refund" and include your mailing address. YWCA will mail you a cheque for the full amount of your registration within 4 weeks of receiving your email. What if I don’t want to fundraise? Can I make a personal donation of $200 or more and run for free? Yes! For those who do not want to collect pledges but still want to support YWCA Elm Centre, you can make a $200 donation in support of the Elm Centre. Call Carol Shortell at (416) 961 8101 ext 335. Please note that as per Canada Revenue Agency, a split receipt will be issued for $200 minus the cost of the race, as you will be a receiving a race registration as a benefit. What happens if I have cheques or cash donations to put towards my fundraising total? Please drop off or send your offline donations to the YWCA Toronto office (80 Woodlawn Ave E, Toronto Ont. M4T 1C1) in an envelope clearly marked Yorkville Run/Walk Donations. Please indicate your name and we will add these donations to your online fundraising total. Please note that all offline donations must be received by 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in order to count towards your pledge totals to be eligible for fundraising prizes. Please ensure that you fill out the pledge form provided online with the donors' information so that we can send them a tax receipt if applicable. Please do NOT send cash by mail. Can I hand in my donations on race day? We welcome donations on race day. Unfortunately, these donations will not count towards your pledge totals to be eligible for fundraising prizes. Please drop off your donations at the YWCA Toronto booth located beside the start/finish line. When will my supporters receive their tax receipts? Tax receipts will be issued for all donations over $10. Tax receipts for online and offline donations will be processed after the run and sent to the donor in the mail. I have more questions.
